Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your SquadUp account right from the app. This page explains how to do it, what gets removed, what stays, and the little we keep. Deleting your account is permanent — there is no way to undo it.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open SquadUp and go to the Me tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account (just below Sign out).
- Tap Continue when we ask you to confirm.
- On the next screen, type DELETE in the box to unlock the button, then tap Permanently delete my account.
That's it — your account is deleted right away and you're signed out.
What gets deleted
- Your profile is deleted forever and can't be recovered.
- You're removed from all your squads. Squads you own are handed to another member so the squad keeps running.
- You're taken off every upcoming game, and any game you're hosting is canceled.
What stays
- Your messages stay in their chats so the conversations still make sense to everyone else, but your name is replaced with "[Deleted User]".
- To keep SquadUp safe and to meet our legal obligations, we keep a small amount of information that is not your profile: records connected to safety or abuse reports, a security record showing that your account was deleted (a scrambled version of your phone number, which can't be turned back into the real number, plus the date — never your name or profile), and any "don't text me" opt-out choices so we keep honoring them. None of this can be used to sign you back in.
You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
Signing up again
Signing up again later — even with the same phone number — starts a brand-new, empty account. Nothing from your deleted account comes back.
Can't get into the app?
If you can't sign in but still want your account deleted, email us at contact@squadup.chat from any address and tell us the phone number on the account. We'll take care of it for you.
