Delete Your Account

This notice describes how to request deletion of your SquadUp account, the effects of deletion, and information that may be retained. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

How to delete your account in the app

1. Open SquadUp and go to the Me tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account (just below Sign out).
3. Tap Continue when we ask you to confirm.
4. On the next screen, type DELETE in the box to unlock the button, then tap Permanently delete my account.

You are signed out and your active account is removed. Removal from service-provider systems may take additional time.

What gets deleted

• Your active profile is removed.
• You are removed from all your squads. Squads you own are transferred to another member where possible; otherwise their channels are archived.
• You are taken off every upcoming game, and any game you're hosting is canceled.

What stays

• Existing messages and shared media remain in their conversations, with the associated chat identity changed to "[Deleted User]".
• Historical participation and records necessary to preserve shared activity and Squad ownership may be retained.
• Information may be retained for security, moderation, legal compliance, and messaging opt-outs. Retention does not restore access to the deleted account.
• Backups and cached copies may remain until they expire or are replaced. Diagnostic and support records may be kept when needed to investigate issues or meet legal obligations. Our account-deletion process also requests deletion of identified analytics events.

Signing up again

A subsequent registration creates a new account and does not reactivate the deleted account.

Can't get into the app?

To request account deletion without signing in, email contact@squadup.chat and identify the phone number associated with the account. We may request additional information to verify and process your request.
